Our time-tested ecological farming methods reap healthy, tasty, robust organic rice because we plant winter cover crops that produce natural fertilizer to enrich the soil, rotate our fields to allow the soil to rest between plantings, chop and turn the rice straw under after harvest to improve soil fertility and preserve air quality rather than burning our fields, use pest and weed control on a minimal basis only when necessary, encourage migratory waterfowl to inhabit our fields as birds provide organic fertilizer and help decompose rice straw, and practice water conservation.
